Marriage certificate

Civil status certificates are documents confirming each entry made in the civil status register. The entry in the book is made by an official. The marriage certificate confirms the marriage. For a marriage certificate document to be recognized as authentic outside the country, an apostille may be required, which is a confirmation of the authenticity of the official’s signature and seal. Some procedures will require sworn translation.

The process of obtaining a copy of the marriage certificate is carried out by submitting an appropriate application to any registry office in Poland, with the waiting time for issuing a copy usually ranging from 1 to 7 business days.

Types of write-offs:
  • abridged write-off (includes current content)
  • complete (contains the content of the entire act, taking into account subsequent changes, if any, and more information than the shortened version)
  • multilingual (a form of act that is particularly useful abroad)
